Thin-layer chromatography has been successfully used for the analysis of cyclodextrín inclusion complexes. As a result of inclusion complexation, the Rf value for stable complexes is significantly lower than Rf values of the active substances. In the present study, thin-layer chromatography was used for the analysis of inclusion complexes of some sulphonamidic diuretics with different structures (chlorthalidone, hydrochlorothiazide, furosemide, indapamide and acetazolamide) with natural and semisynthetic cyclodextrin (β-cyclodextrin, hydroxypropyl- β-cyclodextrin, randomly methylated- β-cyclodextrin). The complexes were obtained by different preparation methods. There was a significant diminution of the Rf values of the complexes compared with the active substances which can be interpreted as the formation of real inclusion complexes.
