Abstract

A tectonic graben with steep fault at its northern border has been traced by electrically conducting formations along the Periadriatic-lineament in Gail valley and in the Karawanken. The conducting formations consist of strongly anisotropic graphitic black shales. The low viscosity graphite helped tectonic movement along the lineament. Geodynamic models by Horvath et al. (1987) are supported by including the role of low viscosity graphitic schists. -from Authors
