Abstract

Some recent results on the cusp in the electron spectrum and pertaining consequences are discussed. It is shown that the shape of the cusp is determined mainly by the charge of the outgoing projectile at a given impact velocity. The effect of a new approximation for the spectrometer transmission function on the cusp-shape parameters β1, β2 are also discussed.
