Research output: Article

The following tendons of healthy men died by accident (aged 18 to 42 yr) were investigated: Achilles, quadriceps, flexor digitorum profundus, and flexor pellicis longus. Between the peritoneum externum and the tendon bundles, a close morphological and functional unity was found. Contrary to our preceding knowledge, inside of the tendons beside the longitudinal fibers a transverse and a vertical fiber system was detected, too.
