Propagation-time-dispersion in a streak camera lens

Abstract

We point out that a time of flight interferometer is suitable to measure the transit time of even complicated optical systems. As the first such application of this method the values of transit time in case of a streak camera lens is presented. The accuracy of the treatment was checked by a control measurement and calculation on a quartz lens and was found to be 10fs.
