Abstract

This paper discusses some metrics of TCP based on real measurements over the Internet. We present algorithms to measure the congestion window related metrics and use these metrics to study the stationary behavior of TCP. Our statistical analysis shows that the distribution of the congestion window process in stable period has bell-like shape and can be approximated by a normal distribution.
