Non-topological anomalies and Wess-Zumino effective action

Abstract

The uniqueness of the full non-abelian anomaly, including the terms additional to the usual Bardeen anomaly, is proven within gauge-invariant perturbation theory. The resulting effective Wess-Zumino lagrangian describes both normal and abnormal parity processes. The slope parameter λ+ in Kℓ3 decay and the structure-dependent amplitude in π → eνγ are shown to be uniquely determined by the anomaly.
