Neutron depolarization investigations of high-temperature superconductors in the mixed state

Abstract

Results of the investigation of high-temperature superconductors by the method of neutron depolarization are reviewed. This technique provides microscopic observation of the magnetic-field distribution in a sample. Recent studies of YBaCuO ceramics at temperatures around Tc and external magnetic fields up to 10 kOe performed at the IBR-2 high-flux pulsing reactor in Dubna have given new information about the T-H phase diagram. The physics of the mixed state is discussed on the basis of the above investigation results.
