Abstract

β-Amyloids are neurotoxic compounds produced in the brain and cause Alzheimer-type senile dementia. Their toxicity is in good correlation with their aggregation properties. Short peptide fragments of β-amyloid prevent Aβ-toxicity, probably by binding on the Aβ-aggregate surface.
