Modeling of the Evolution of Cluster-Size Distribution Functions in Polar Fullerene C 60 Solutions

Abstract: We propose a method for calculating the evolution of the cluster-size distribution functions of fullerene C 60 aggregates in polar solutions within the previously developed limited growth model. This method allows calculation of the distribution function f(r,t) at arbitrary moments of time for the given parameters of the system. As an example, we calculate the evolution of the mean cluster size, concentrations of monomers, and f(r,t) for a model polar solution of fullerenes. Small-angle neutron scattering curves at different times from the onset of C 60 aggregation in the solution are obtained.
