Abstract

Presents a mathematical model of the thermo-hydrodynamic process that occurs during water flooding of oil pools with highly viscous oil. Modeling is carried out by numerical solution of the equations defining the conservation of mass, impulse and energy for the case of multiphase flow in a porous medium. Particular attention is payed to the following factors: the role of viscous energy dissipation in the energy balance, evolution of a temperature front in time, ie the decrease of temperature by thermal conduction in the vicinity of the oil-bearing layer, and evolution of the transition zone. Non steady-state temperature distributions are calculated for different oil pool models and for a wide range of the values of different characteristics. -English summary
