From (all-E)-cycloviolaxanthin (ex Capsicum annuum), (9Z)- and (13Z)-cycloviolaxanthin were prepared in a highly pure state. The configuration of both isomers was determined by means of UV/VIS, NMR, and CD spectroscopy.
