Abstract

The mechanical properties of basalt fiber reinforced polypropylene composites were investigated by applying different reactive additives that increase the fiber-matrix interfacial adhesion. The results of the tensile, bending and Charpy tests revealed that the property-couple most important in the automotive industry, namely impact resistance and bending elastic modulus were improved by 100-150% with the help of the modified method.
