Immunotoxicology: Possibilities to detect the early toxicity of synthetic compounds

Research output: Short survey

The immune system, as one of those systems which assure the inner stability of the organism, can be a sensitive target of the environmental effect - including toxic chemicals. In the present article the authors reviewed those methods which are frequently used in the animal experiments for immunotoxicity testing of chemicals. As there are only limited possibilities for testing the human immunotoxicity, and as these studies can be carried out only after the introduction of the material into practice, the extrapolation of animal data to human conditions is also presented.
