Abstract

The percentage of circulating immunoblasts labelled with tritiated thymidine was studied by an autoradiographic method and has been determined in the peripheral blood of patients with Graves' disease. The number of immunoblasts was significantly enhanced in the untreated patients with Graves' disease and approximately normal after Methimazole treatment in euthyroid stage. There was found a remarkable difference in the thymidine labelling index of lymphoid cells between the forms with ophthalmopathy and without ophthalmopathy of Graves' disease.
