Hydrogen-bounded clusters in aqueous solutions: A combined positron annihilation and FTIR study

Abstract

A combined positron lifetime and infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) experiment was performed to study the clustering processes in the mixtures of 2-(Dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate (DMAEMA) and water. The results show that all the possible sites of DMAEMA molecules are bound in H-bond at very low water concentrations. The results reveal several possible configurations of the clusters.
