High-precision measurement of angular dispersion in a CPA laser

Abstract

A method was developed for the measurement of angular dispersion in a chirped pulse amplification (CPA) laser, based on spectrally resolved Mach-Zender interferometer. The coarse evaluation of the interferograms was quick, simple and effective for angular dispersion between 10 and 300 μrad/nm. The proposed method allowed for real-time alignment of stretcher-compressor system of CPA lasers. Accuracy as high as 0.2 μrad/nm was achieved for angular dispersion in the range of 0.2-40 μrad/nm.
