The authors identified the etiological role of Bacteroides ureolyticus in reproductive disorders of mares. They present the severe losses caused by the disease with the missing of progeny as well as the clinical signs, epidemiology and the opportunities for the treatment and prevention. For the drug treatment and prevention, on the first day following the detection of horsing they placed one suppository In the morning and in the afternoon and from the second day only one suppository into the vagina. The service or artificial insemination was on the third or fourth day. Drug treatment and prevention with the suppository, containing citric acid and bactericide, virucide and fungicide agent was effective and most of the mares got pregnant. They consider the knowledge on B. ureolyticus very Important because the losses caused by the disease and the course and clinical signs resemble to the contagious metritis caused by Taylorella equigenitalis.
