Electrochemistry at fractal surfaces

Abstract

Rough and partially active electrodes are frequently modelled as fractals. These models are surveyed with special attention to the time dependence of the diffusion controlled current towards fractal interfaces. By means of a real system (rough platinum) it is shown how an electrochemical surface characterization procedure can be elaborated by using fractal concepts.
