Abstract

Density and breeding success of great tit Parus major, blue tit Parus caeruleus and collared flycatcher Ficedula albicollis were studied in an oak forest over 19 yr. Intraspecific density-dependent clutch size reduction was found for the blue tit and great tit. Density of blue tit reduced clutch size of great tit. Collared flycatcher significantly reduced the hatching success of both tit species and number of fledglings of great tit. Great tit and the combined density of great and blue tits influenced clutch size reduction and number of fledglings of collared flycatcher when density of tits was high. -from Authors
