Cholesterol-crystal embolism in cerebral vessels

F. Bordas, K. Majtenyi

Research output: Article

The authors report a case of the 'late phase' of the cholesterol-crystal embolism in the system of the vertebro-basilar arteries in order to throw light on this, not so infrequent complication of the atherosclerosis, which in general medical practice is seldom considered. It is emphasized that the disease can be diagnosed in life by examination of biopsy specimens from the skin, muscles and kidney and by observation of the eye fundus.
