The solid-state supramolecular complexation of fullerenes C60 and C70 as well as of some derivatives of C60 was attained with γ-cyclodextrin by the use of mechanochemical high-speed vibration milling. Similarly C60 and the fullerene dimer C120 were complexed with sulfocalixarene. The produced complexes were found to be soluble in water, and the solubility was examined by UV-vis spectroscopy.
