Abstract

The effect of several amphetamine derivatives exerted on basal metabolism and body temperature were analysed. It was stated that serotonin had a significant part in the effects of the parasubstituted (meth) amphetamines. Tolerance developed to the pharmacological effects of these compounds was in connection with metabolic change of brain serotonin.
