Abstract

The polymerization reaction of butyl vinyl ether with initiating systems I2 and HI/I2 was investigated with glass fiber photometry and conductometry by monitoring the characteristic changes in the absorbance versus time curve and in the conductivity versus time curve. Aldehyde end-groups were observed and a mechanism of their formation is proposed.
