An exact proof of the invalidity of ‘handel’s quantum 1/f noise model’, based on quantum electrodynamics

Abstract

Handel’s heuristic quantum 1/f noise model based on a ‘beating’ (oscillating self-interference) term in the electron density is very controversial. On the basis of rigorous quantum electrodynamics we show that the value of the beating term is zero at any given time, consequently this hypothetical type of 1/ƒ noise does not exist.
