Amplified spontaneous emission from N2-laser pumped dye lasers

Abstract

A comparative study of N2-laser pumped grating-tuned dye lasers and distributed feedback dye laser (DFDL) is reported. It was found that the DFDL has much lower amplified spontaneous emission background level and has about twice the efficiency and tuning range of the grating-tuned dye laser.
