Earthworm material collected from Albania has been elaborated. Altogether 11 species were found, of which Lumbricus rubellus Hoffmeister, 1843 represents a new record for the country and Eisenia muranyii sp. n. is new to science, raising the number of earthworm species present in Albania to 32. According to the results of the phylogenetic analysis of the different Eisenia species distributed in the Balkans, E. muranyii seems to be closest to Eisenia lucens.
