14 fs pulse generation from prismless Cr:LiSAF and Cr:LiSGaF lasers

Abstract

14 fs pulses were generated from mode-locked Cr:LiSAF and Cr:LiSGaF lasers. The laser setup was characterized by extreme compactness comprising two dispersive mirrors giving rise to high stability of the mode-locked operation. The autocorrelation trace and the spectrum of the mode-locked laser pulses generated pulses of 880 nm. A sech2 pulse shape fit to the measured autocorrelation yielded a pulse length of 14 fs and a time-bandwidth product of ΔτΔν = 0.32.
