The article includes a short summary of the basic physical knowledge in connection with the laser heterodyne measurement technology. An interferometer is mentioned that does not require a precision adjustment accuracy. The authors provide the readers with details regarding a surface checking equipment, the measurement of surface velocity and the examination of the moving cone. Finally some further possibilities of application are outlined, however with reference to the technical limits and difficulties.
