Abstract

The present quantity of archaeomagnetic directional data from Hungary for the last two millenia allows an analysis of these data in terms of the directional secular variation of the geomagnetic field over the given region. Applying the moving window technique and a weighting scheme described in the article a model of directional secular variation was obtained for Hungary which compares favourably with that derived from the French archaeomagnetic data for France by the same method. -English summary
