The authors relate the first phase of their 'longitudinal' survey. The survey has been carried out among first year students at the Faculty of Health Care of Semmelweis University. In their survey the authors explored the link between the essential features of the concept and its place in the hierarchy of values. They also drew attention to the fact that the concept related to the value of profession and human resources is far from being cleared up. The results of this analysis are going to be used to improve the efficiency of training and to strengthen the function of consciously conveying and developing the sense of values. The authors are going to give more information about the developments in their survey at a later date.
