Abstract

A new method is described for the measurement of soft x-ray (SXR) and ultrasoft x-ray (USXR) radiation of fusion plasmas. The system applies the microchannel plate (MCP) detector and can be used to measure the emitted radiation along 12 chords in different energy ranges. The operation of the MCP in the measurement is discussed in detail. Some results are included which demonstrate the capabilities of the device.
