Abstract

Acidification of urine for prophylaxis of infection stones can be achieved by L-methionine (Acimethin®) in a satisfactory manner. With the physiological dosis of 1,5 g L-methionin/day there is not to expect that an increase of excretion of lithogenic substances in urine will occur. With L-methionine the risk of calcium oxalate stone formation will not be changed.
