The partial replacement of the ureter with full-thickness gastric wall segment (2 dogs) and with seromuscular gastric segment (6 dogs) was studied. In the cases of full-thickness gastric wall segment no obstructions were found after 11-15 weeks. In the cases of seromuscular gastric segment, obstruction developed 2 weeks after the use of double-J stent. If long- lasting stenting (4-12 weeks) was employed the seromuscular 'neoureter' became lined with normal urothelium after 10 weeks time.
