A new ortho-quinone with a rearranged abietane skeleton was isolated from Hyptis umbrosa and assigned the structure, 4,4,13-trimethyl-7-(2-hydroxy)-isopropyl-(2H,4H)-tetrahydroanthracen-10,11-dione by high field 2D 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopic methods.
