Abstract

Ultrastructural studies of the bronchial oat cell carcinoma of a young man were performed to reveal an association between clinically observed Cushing's syndrome, the increased serotonin level and the cytological features of tumour cells. It was concluded that there are two types of neurosecretory tumour cells in the tumour tissue, which represent the structural basis of the hormone production.
