The authors performed a Vecchietti's operation, creation of a neovagina, modified by laparoscopy. Vaginal ultrasound transducer was placed in front of the vaginal dimple in order to fully identify the narrow space between the bladder and rectum to avoid injuries. Twelve patients were operated by using this method and now all of them have a well functioning 8-10 cm long neovagina. The use of the vaginal ultrasound transducer seems to be a promising method to reduce the rate of complications during Vecchietti's method modified by laparoscopy.
