The authors present the case of a ten year old female mixed breed dog, which arrived to the clinic with a large mass in the inguinal region. The animal was first examined, clinico-pathological examination of the blood was done and an ultrasound examination was performed. The ultrasound diagnosis was inguinal hernia. The patient was operated. The inguinal ring was ruptured in the lateral direction. A large section of the jejunum, the left horn of the uterus, part of the omentum and large amount of abdominal fat were involved in the hernial sac. They repositioned the abdominal organs in their normal position and reconstructed the inguinal ring.
