Two-pion correlations from spacer

Abstract

We calculate, without free parameters, the correlation function for π - and π 0 in ultrarelativistic-heavy-ion collisions based on a spacetime version of the LUND model FRITIOF, called SPACER. Correlations between spacetime and momentum space are shown to determine the correlation function. In particular, we show how resonance decays lead to a decidedly non-gaussian shape of the correlation function. Results are compared with NA35 and WA80 data.
