We analyze a two-band, BCS-type superconducting phase in the presence of itinerant antiferromagnetic correlations. The self-consistent, coupled system of equations for the (intra- and inter-band) order parameters is solved analytically in two limiting cases and numerically for the whole parameter range. The effect of doping and of the inter-band coupling constant on the superconducting critical transition temperature and order parameters is analized in detail. Within the model a significant enhancement of the superconducting transition temperature is found. The possible connection to high-Tc superconducting materials is discussed.
