Triply differential ionization cross-section of H2 by 50 eV impact-energy positrons

Abstract

The energy distribution of electrons ejected around 0° from the ionization of H2 by positron impact at 50 eV has been measured in coincidence with positrons scattered in the same direction. On comparison with the theoretical expectations, the experimental results are shifted to lower energies by around 1.6 eV. The shift would suggest that, at least at this energy, molecular excitation/dissociation dominantly accompanies electron-capture-to-the-continuum by positron impact on H2.
