Abstract

Authors present their initial experience with transperitoneal laparoscopic nephrectomy. Two male patients with right non-functioning chronic pyelonephritic kidney underwent successful laparoscopic nephrectomy. The kidneys were removed through a 2 and 2.5 cm incision, respectively, without morcellation. The operative technique, the existing variations and the indications are discussed in detail on the base of reviewing the literature. Laparoscopic nephrectomy is an advantageous method for the patients in the cases of benign renal diseases.
