Transition matrix elements independent of the exit channels in the exciton cascade model

Abstract

A simple version of the exciton cascade model based on Monte Carlo simulation has been applied to the description of fast-neutron-induced reactions. The role of the Pauli exclusion principle and different estimates of the transition matrix elements between different exciton configurations have been discussed. The transition matrix element is set free of adjustable parameters independently of the exit channel under consideration. The results of calculations have been compared with experimental data for some medium and heavy target nuclei.
