Thermodynamics-based semi-empirical description of the liquidus surface and partition coefficients in ternary Al-Mg-Si alloy

Abstract

A method used for the approximation of liquidus and solidus surfaces and partition coefficients is described, in case of Al-Mg-Si alloy system. The temperature- and partition coefficient data serving for the basis of calculation was obtained from the measurement or thermodynamic calculations. The functions obtained by the described method were found to be suitable for simplifying the solidification simulations.
