Thermal stability and viscous flow features of Al85Co2Nd4Ni5Y4 amorphous alloy

The thermal stability and viscous flow behavior ofamorphous alloy Al85Co2Nd4Ni5Y4 are studied at heating rates 10 K/min and 20 KJmin. The viscosity experimental results are interpreted on the basis of the Free Volume Model. The values of the model parameters obtained are used to estimate the glass forming ability in terms of the Angell parameter value, and the fracture strength of the alloy based on its correlation with the glass transition temperature in correspondence with the equation of Yang.
