Abstract

A new equation, σ = K · εm · e, is suggested to describe extremely large deformations. With the use of this equation the stability criterion can be valid during the deformation leading therefore to large neck-free strains as it is observed. In the case of superplastic Al alloys this equation is applied to interpret the effect of the parameters of the strain rate change experiment on the determination of the strain rate sensitivity, m.
