The role of diaryl oxalates in peroxioxalate chemiluminescence

Abstract

The role of symmetrical diaryl and phenyl aryl oxalates in peroxyoxalate chemiluminescence was studied. Maximum emitted light intensity and decay constant of light emission was measured as a function of oxalate, hydrogen peroxide and fluorescer concentration. Data permitted a suggestion for the mechanism of the reaction and its rate determining step.
