Objective: The medical radiotherapeutic programme of the newly-established Oncological Centre in Kecskemit will be given. Methods: On the basis of the international and Hungarian recommendations, the most important organisational, infrastructural and personnel requirements will be outlined. Results: The 11 th Hungarian radiotherapeutic centre with two megavolt instruments, one after-loading device and subsidiary tools will serve a population of 800000 people with an annual new radiotherapeutic case incidence of 1500. Conclusion: The centre will play a decisive role in the cancer patient care of a previously radiotherapeutically unsupplied geographical area.
