Abstract

The influence of the acidity of zeolites on the formation of unsaturated carbenium ions from propene and allene was investigated by combined UV-VIS-IR spectroscopy. The higher the B/L acidity ratio the lower the frequency of the alkenyl carbenium ions and the less intense the generation of monoenyl ions from both allene and propene over zeolites HNaY-FAU and HNa-ZSM-5.
