Skin cancer is a serious public health problem. A significant number of people die from melanoma. The nonmelanoma skin cancers are rarely fatal and rarely metastatizes. The most frequent human tumor, the basal cell carcinoma invade slowly progressively destroying all local tissues. Squamous cell carcinoma is less common than its basal cell equvalent but it usually has a more agressive biological behaviour. It is imperative that the primary care physicians are aware of the scope of the probleme. Skin cancer is common and fortunately visible. The recognition and appropriate management of skin cancer is the subject of this article.
